Don't Hate. Appreciate Me

Akwaaba.
Hi I'm Jacqueline. Ghanaian-British living in a small town living the sheltered life.
I'm here first and foremost for my Black queens.
Expect intersectional feminism and posts on racial topics and other political issues with some occasional jumble of things I like.
Okay I'm done now.

I AM SORRY BUT THIS IS WHY I AM EMBARRASSED TO BE AN AMERICAN. IF A HIJAB THAT DORNS THE AMERICAN FLAG PATTERN IS NOT ACCEPTABLE BUT SKIMPY ASS BIKINIS OR WEARING THE FUCKING ACTUAL FLAG IS ACCEPTABLE, JUST BECAUSE THE PERSON IS WHITE, I WANT TO FUCKING THROW UP.

(I don’t have a thing against Audrey Kitching, she was just merely and example).

But this fucking disgusts me right here. It makes me want to say, fuck this country and its racism and double standards.

I LITERALLY FUCKING CAN NOT

Give her a bullet to the head for walking down the street, minding her own business??  And they think SHE’S the terrorist.

^bolding for emphasis.

Okay trigger warning all of these comments are incredibly violent, but my god. I’m ashamed.

Look at all the white faces without the label of terrorist under their pictures!

Where are the derogatory slurs that make the crimes a result of their race/culture?

Where are the think pieces that make their “strange/foreign” religion a key factor in their decision?

When society has taught cis straight white men that they are entitled to everything, why does it surprise us that when it’s denied they turn violent?

The faces of terrorism.

LOOK HOW RELEVANT THIS IS RIGHT NOW.

Praise and support Black mothers at all times.

Esther Jones, known by her stage name, “Baby Esther,” was a singer and entertainer of the late 1920s. She performed regularly at The Cotton Club in Harlem. Helen Kane saw her act in 1928 and appropriated Jones’ ‘baby’ singing style for a recording of “I Wanna Be Loved By You.” Jones’ style went on to become the inspiration for the voice of Betty Boop.(What I Looked up)

this is why i just think people of color created and were behind everything ever. No matter what it is, it comes back to a person of color being behind it, and real talk 70% of the time its a black person or African civilization

"If they can learn to say Tchaikovsky and Michelangelo and Dostoyevsky, they can learn to say Uzoamaka." — Uzo Aduba’s mother proving that the idea of not being able to pronounce a POC’s name because it’s “too hard” or “too complicated” is complete bullshit and actually just laziness. whoneedsfeminism:

I need feminism because whenever I start talking to a guy, they think they are entitled to my body and ask me for nude photos or sex.
I then have to make up an excuse because I am afraid that if I simply say “no”, they will no longer respect me or they will label me as a “bitch”.

Found the white!

Doesn’t matter what color I am. I could be purple or blue, it does not change the fact that this is wrong.
